Episode 26: Winter Whispers: Finding Hope in the Darkness

Throughout history, cultures have ascribed meaning to the natural cycles of the seasons, seeing in them the cyclical nature of our human existence as well. Spring brings new life and new beginnings. Summer brings growth and abundance. Fall is the season of culmination and harvest. But winter…winter is a time of scarcity, of death and grief, of letting go, of forced rest, and of personal reflection. The holiday festivities offer a brief, brilliant flash of distraction from the harsher aspects of the season; but when the winter wonderland fades into a stark landscape of short, cold, dreary days we’re left to our own devices and inner ruminations, making it hard to find a spark of hope and warmth in our lives. Join us, as we discuss what winter has to teach us as well as what hope actually is and how to find it even on our darkest days. Drop us a comment below to let us know where you find hope in the winter darkness.
